The wrapper on the Toro (50 x 152 mm) has a colorado shade, slightly rough to the touch and with quite pronounced veining. The filling is generous. A good overall manufacture.
Joya de Nicragua Celebración Toro: the cold draw is interesting, with the aromas of ripe fruits and dates, and light hints of cocoa.
Once lit, the dominant flavor is the saltiness, with light sweet peeks and a little bit of spiciness, that disappears after a few minutes. The aromas in this first third are reminiscent of spices, dried fruits and minerals, with hints of ripe fruits. The strength is light (1/5).
The middle doesn’t change too much, except for woody note, that get developed at half cigar. Every aroma is well characterized and distinguishable. The strength increases, settling on medium-light (2/5).
The last third delivers a more ample aromatic palate, with notes of coffee and almonds that are added to the spices and wood. In the last few puffs appear also a rich notes of hazelnut. The strength stays unchanged on the medium-light (2/5).
Overall the Celebración Toro is very balanced and sufficiently complex. The persistence and evolution are good, albeit the aromatic intensity seems a bit “muffled”. The only flaw was the underwhelming second third, compared to the overall smoke.
